Nisi Shawl

Nisi Shawl's stories have been published in Asimov's; Strange Horizons; Mojo: Conjure Stories; Lenox Avenue; Aeon; The Infinite Matrix, and both volumes of the groundbreaking Dark Matter anthology series, which focuses on speculative fiction by people of African descent. With her friend Cindy Ward, she teaches "Writing the Other: Bridging Cultural Differences for Successful Fiction;" the class's companion book is due out this summer from Aqueduct Press. A board member for the Clarion West Writers Workshop, Nisi likes to relax by pretending she lives in other people's houses.
